How Soul Harvest Starts

Soul Harvest can trigger during matches in Hallowgrove and Brandrgarde while the event is active. The official August 12 update says that a higher map Gyldening Intensity increases the chance of the event appearing. It is still a chance, not a guaranteed objective in every run. When it triggers, Soul Incubators carrying Soul Cocoons appear around the map and a Fate Altar appears for the purification ritual.

Before changing your route, check whether the event fits the run you already have. A low-cost squad may treat one nearby incubator as an optional objective. A prepared team may decide to pursue the full ritual. A player carrying valuable ordinary loot may reasonably ignore the event and extract. The event is an opportunity, not a requirement for every match.

Two Ways to Use a Soul Cocoon

A carried Soul Cocoon creates information and risk at the same time. Official notes state that cocoon holders resonate with one another: they can perceive the locations of other cocoon holders, while their own location is also revealed to those players. Picking up the objective therefore changes the match. You gain information about competitors, but you also become part of their information network.

The official update gives two uses. Submit two Soul Cocoons at the Fate Altar to activate the ritual, or submit one Soul Cocoon to Richie, the in-match merchant, to unlock a special team reward. The Richie option is a practical fallback when a solo player or an underprepared team does not want to contest the complete altar sequence.

Decision rule: do not carry a cocoon without deciding where it is going. Choose the altar route, the Richie fallback, or a deliberate disengagement. Wandering with a revealed objective creates risk without progressing either result.

Avoid the Third-Party Trap

Creator footage shows why the altar is dangerous: the objective concentrates teams around a predictable area and the cocoon system exposes competitors. The player-tested recommendation is not to race blindly toward the altar. Approach from cover, identify whether another group has already started the sequence, and keep one route that does not cross the center of the fight.

When playing with a team, concentrating carried cocoons on one prepared player can reduce the number of teammates exposed through cocoon resonance. That is a community tactic, not an official requirement. It also creates a single point of failure, so the carrier should not be the first person through every doorway. Decide who scouts, who carries, and who protects the escape before entering the final approach.
