BUILD STARTER

Mistfall Hunter Withered Knight Build

Use Greatsword for a direct offensive start. Use Polearm & Shield for reach, active blocking, charge pressure, and team peel. Treat a hybrid as an advanced option after both weapons make sense alone.

VERIFIED WEAPONS

Greatsword, Polearm, or Hybrid

Greatsword

This is the direct offensive starter. Create one clear opening, commit to a heavy sequence, and stop before the target’s answer. Official material describes Consecutive Break and Delayed Detonation directions, but this page does not freeze an exact current talent tree.

Polearm & Shield

Use reach, active blocking, a charge, and team protection. It can interrupt pressure around a ranged ally or create space for the group, but it asks the player to manage facing, distance, and defense at the same time.

A hybrid can open or peel with Polearm & Shield and switch to Greatsword for offense, but it adds cooldown, energy, weapon-state, and timing decisions. It is not the beginner default. Learn one weapon’s full exchange before adding the second.

PRACTICAL LOOP

Play the Window, Then Reset

Greatsword: approach with enough space to finish the chosen sequence, use the opening, land the committed hits, then reposition. Do not begin the slow part of the sequence when the target can simply leave. Polearm & Shield: keep the threat at the end of the weapon, block actively, charge only through a readable line, and turn toward the ally or space that needs protection.

In solo play, reserve a way to stop the chase. In a trio, team peel can be more valuable than one extra hit. A successful build is one that repeats the same job through a complete run, not one that wins a single favorable exchange.
